Charlotte Jacobs worked on a biography of Jonas Salk. It was published as Jonas Salk: A Life by Oxford University Press in May of 2015. Her first biography, Henry Kaplan and the Story of Hodgkin's Disease, was published by Stanford University Press in 2010. She is also the playwright of Just My TYPE, created with Michael Sally, Michael Cohen, and Rita Abrams, which had a successful run in the Bay Area.

Charlotte Jacobs worked in the Irving Fine studio.

Youngstown Studio was given to MacDowell by friends of Miss Myra McKeown in Youngstown, OH, where she promoted both art and music. It was renamed Irving Fine Studio in 1972 in honor of Irving Fine, a distinguished composer, conductor, and teacher who was a MacDowell Fellow during the 1940s and 1950s.
