The prestigious San Francisco Chronicle has described Clarice Assad as “a serious triple threat.” The Brazilian-American is a Grammy nominated composer, performer, and educator of musical depth and ability. Carefully crafted colorful textures permeate her soulful and musical world, which embraces a wide variety of styles, from symphonic to chamber music, avant-garde to Brazilian genres and French chanson. As a performer, Assad often appears on piano and explores the voice as an instrument, creating a vast array of innovative textures and extended techniques in her music. An avid educator, she is the founder of VOXploration, an award winning research-based outreach program that touches the lives of many people. Clarice's mission is to connect, inspire, and empower people through music.

Given to the residency by the Monday Music Club of Orange, NJ, Monday Music Studio is sited next to an enormous boulder deposited by glaciers thousands of years ago.
