Denne Michele Norris used their time at MacDowell working extensively on their novel, When The Harvest Comes, as well a short story. Both pieces explore themes of father-son relationships, religion, sexuality, and the vulnerability of queer black boys.

Denne is a 2018 Pushcart Prize nominee, a 2016 Tin House Scholar, a 2015 Kimbilio Fiction Fellow, and Senior Fiction Editor of The Rumpus. They are also co-host of the critically acclaimed podcast Food 4 Thot. They live and write in Brooklyn.

Delta Omicron

Denne Michele Norris worked in the Delta Omicron studio.

Delta Omicron Studio was funded by members of the international musical fraternity in 1927. The building design is somewhat medieval in character, with an unusual cedar shingle pattern, a steeply pitched slate roof, intersecting gables, and small windows.
