Elyas Khan is a composer and performer who was born in London. His music is influenced by Indo-Pakistani heritage and involves primitive instrumentation, electronic chaos, soulful voice, and sexy groove. He often plays each instrument on his tracks and refuses to be constrained by stylistic norms. Khan has been awarded the New York Meet The Composer Grant and a MacDowell Fellowship.

Built in 1912, Pine Studio was renamed MacDowell Studio in 1943 in recognition of support from a group of Edward MacDowell’s music students. It was built as a composers’ studio and the stuccoed walls were intended to be soundproof.
