Emilie Bauer (1865-1926) was an American composer, music critic, writer, and pianist from Walla Walla, WA who published her work under the pseudonym Francisco di Nogero. She began studying composition with her father, Jaques Bauer, and Miguel Espinosa, in San Francisco, and at the Paris Conservatoire. Bauer then taught piano in Walla Walla and Portland, OR, and worked as a music critique for The Portland Oregonian, an editor for Musical Courier, and as a music teacher in Boston. She also contributed to The Musical Leader, The Etude, The New York Evening Mail, Concertgoer, and The San Francisco Chronicle.
