Jang Soon Im worked on his new painting series. He received his M.F.A. in drawing and painting from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) in 2010 and his B.F.A. in Asian Painting from Seoul National University in 2003. He has been exhibited in Houston, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Kanazawa, and Seoul. Im completed residency programs at the Core program, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts,and Vermont Studio Center (VSC). He has been awarded a Marin Fellowship from VSC, an Artadia Awards 2012 Houston, and a James Nelson Raymond Fellowship from SAIC in 2010.

Originally a working barn perched atop the namesake hill of Hillcrest Farm, this building was converted to serve the arts in 1956.
