Jung Yun is a fiction writer. In residence, she made significant progress on her second novel, O Beautiful, about the residents of a small North Dakota town overrun with newcomers seeking work during the 2008 oil boom. She is also assistant professor of creative writing at the George Washington University. Her debut novel, Shelter (Picador, 2016), was long-listed for the Center for Fiction’s First Novel Prize and was a finalist for the Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers Award. Her work has appeared in Tin House, The Massachusetts Review, Atlantic Monthly, and The Los Angeles Review of Books.

Chapman

Jung Yun worked in the Chapman studio.

Chapman Studio was funded by Mrs. Alice Woodrough Chapman in memory of her husband, composer George Alexander Chapman. Symmetrically massed, the building is stuccoed on the exterior with a natural, unpainted cement. Its unusual half-timbered ornament consists of slender, knotty spruce poles painted a dark green color. A central, peak-roofed entrance porch appears on the north side…
