Kate Blackwell is an American journalist and creative writer. She worked as a journalist and editor before turning full-time to fiction. Her first story collection, You Won't Remember This, was published in hardback in 2007 by Southern Methodist University Press. It was re-issued in 2015 in paperback and eBook by Bacon Press Books. Her stories have appeared in numerous literary journals and three anthologies. She taught fiction writing in the Washington area for 14 years, at The Writer’s Center in Bethesda, MD and other venues. She has been a fellow at MacDowell and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and a Tennessee Williams Scholar at the Sewanee Writers’ Conference.
