At MacDowell in 2005 Katie Davis worked on rewriting a series of radio essays for a book. Her work was broadcast on PRI's "This American Life" and NPR's "All Things Considered" in 2004.

In 2006, she continued work on a memoir about her neighborhood. A three-CD set based on her public radio series, "Neighborhood Stories," was published in 2006. She is a regular essayist on National Public Radio.
