Mateo Bendesky has written and directed the feature films The Unexpected Joker (2022), Family Members (2019), and In Here (2013); and the short films Together Alone (2017) and The Magnetic Nature (2015). His films have been screened and awarded at numerous international film festivals, including Cannes, Berlinale, Rotterdam, Toronto, AFI Fest, Belfort, Macao, and Mar del Plata. He is an alumnus of the Toronto International Film Festival's Filmmakers Lab and the Oxbelly Screenwriters Program. In 2020, he participated in Spaces, the Thessaloniki International Film Festival’s collective film project about the pandemic.
At MacDowell in 2016, Bendesky completed the script for his second feature film, Limbo and started working on his third feature, which was then untitled. In 2025, he worked on the script for Till the Last Cent, his fourth feature film.
