Nkenna Akunna is an Igbo playwright and performer from London whose work primarily explores friendship, time, and various dimensions of Black femme life.
Akunna’s plays include Some of Us Exist in the Future, Good Fit, and cheeky little brown, which will be produced by The Flea Theater in New York in 2023.
While at MacDowell she worked on A Curious Incident in the Countryside, a new play bringing together Nollywood drama and 80s/90s British comedy to tell the story of two young Nigerian ‘nuns’ who’ve found themselves as stewards of an old Restoration era house in southwest England.
