Peter Yeadon is the Founder of Yeadon Space Agency in New York City. He is known for his pursuit of new applications for advanced materials in architecture and design, and has expertise in smart materials, nanomaterials, and biomaterials. Yeadon has received numerous awards for his work, and has lectured on the topic of materials-driven innovation at dozens of universities and conferences. He also teaches courses on advanced materials at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Prior to RISD, Yeadon taught at Cornell University and the University of Toronto.

While at MacDowell in 2017, he made various bioplastics that luminesce and installed them in the woods to biodegrade.

Originally a working barn perched atop the namesake hill of Hillcrest Farm, this building was converted to serve the arts in 1956.
