Reed Whittemore, Jr. (1919–2012) was an American poet, biographer, critic, literary journalist, and college professor. He published numerous collections and, as an editor, published many notable poets in the 1940s and early 50s. He was appointed the 16th and later the 28th Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress in 1964, and in 1984.
