Rosemary Rodriguez wrote two screenplays, Sliver Skies and Going through the Motions while at MacDowell. Her first film, Acts of Worship, which she wrote, directed, and produced, premiered at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival. It was nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards, and most recently received a Prism Award from the entertainment Industries Council. Acts of Worship won best film at Santa Barbara and Crossroads Magnolia Film Festivities; best director at Santa Barbara, Kansas City, and Magnolia Film Festivities; and the Emerging Filmmaker Award at St. Louis Film Festival.

Chapman

Rosemary Rodriguez worked in the Chapman studio.

Chapman Studio was funded by Mrs. Alice Woodrough Chapman in memory of her husband, composer George Alexander Chapman. Symmetrically massed, the building is stuccoed on the exterior with a natural, unpainted cement. Its unusual half-timbered ornament consists of slender, knotty spruce poles painted a dark green color. A central, peak-roofed entrance porch appears on the north side…
