Shaun Cassidy is a sculptor. Born in the United Kingdom, he has been making work in the United States since 1991. He studied sculpture in England and Canada and worked as a studio assistant for Sir Anthony Caro in London. His work spans a diverse range of materials, processes, and ideas. His work has been shown extensively, including exhibitions at Socrates Sculpture Park, NY, Grounds for Sculpture, NJ, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Marseille, France. His art has been featured in Sculpture Magazine, Art in America, and the Wall Street Journal. In addition to a residency at MacDowell, he has been in residence at Sculpture Space, NY; Bemis Center for Contemporary Art, NE; and the Djerassi Resident Artist Program, CA, among others. From 2001-2002 he was an affiliate artist at the McColl Center for Visual Arts in Charlotte, NC, where he now serves on the board of directors. He teaches at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC.

Heinz

Shaun Cassidy worked in the Heinz studio.

The icehouse, built of fieldstone in 1914–1915, was a practical part of Marian MacDowell’s plan for a self-sufficient farm.
