Stellar Kim is a Korean-American fiction writer whose short stories have won several awards including from The Atlantic Monthly, Iowa Review, and Ontario Review. Her recent work appears in The Best American Short Stories 2007. She is the recipient of a MacDowell Fellowship and the 2007 Cooper Memorial Prize for Fiction.

Funded by the Phi Beta Fraternity, a national professional fraternity of music and speech founded in 1912, Phi Beta Studio was built between 1929–1931 of granite quarried on the MacDowell grounds.
