Stephanie Grant is an award-winning writer whose first novel, The
Passion of Alice, was longlisted for Britain's Orange Broadband Prize for
Fiction and was a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award for Best Lesbian
Fiction. She has taught creative writing at Ohio State University and Mount
Holyoke College and is currently visiting writer at the Franklin Humanities
Institute at Duke University.

Stephanie Grant worked in the Chapman studio.

Chapman Studio was funded by Mrs. Alice Woodrough Chapman in memory of her husband, composer George Alexander Chapman. Symmetrically massed, the building is stuccoed on the exterior with a natural, unpainted cement. Its unusual half-timbered ornament consists of slender, knotty spruce poles painted a dark green color. A central, peak-roofed entrance porch appears on the north side…
