Wayne White is a painter, sculptor and puppet maker. After a 30-year career as a set designer and puppeteer for TV, he crossed over into the fine art world as a painter in 2001. He's also known for his multimedia environmental installations, which often involve large-scale puppetry. He was the subject of a 2012 award-winning documentary titled Beauty is Embarrassing. Wayne spent his time at MacDowell exploring the world of puppetry, painting, and drawing.

Heinz

Wayne White worked in the Heinz studio.

The icehouse, built of fieldstone in 1914–1915, was a practical part of Marian MacDowell’s plan for a self-sufficient farm.
