Composer Yotam Haber’s Contemplative and Rejuvenating Playlist

Fellow Yotam Haber writing on a piece of paper and looking straight at the camera.

This portrait of Yotam was captured during his first residency in Irving Fine Studio.

Yotam Haber (09, 10, 11, 14, 16), whose music has been hailed by The New Yorker critic Alex Ross as “deeply haunting,” told us he was deep into composing a new piece during this pandemic, and while his creative juices are flowing, he can’t focus on much else.

However, he acknowledges that at times, when uncertainty is a distraction, there are certain songs, albums, and movements that “bring me great comfort and joy. These are pieces that I will stop anything I’m doing to just lose myself in their marvelous worlds.”
