Alex Mar worked on her first non-fiction book for Farrar, Straus and Giroux — a travelogue/memoir/underground history of contemporary witchcraft practice in America. Witches of America was a New York Times Notable Book of 2015 in non-fiction and an Editors’ Pick, Huffington Post Books’ “Most Notable” of 2015 and a Marie Claire “Top Book-Club Pick.” Her first film, the feature documentary American Mystic, was released by Kino Lorber in 2010.
