At MacDowell, Anne Fessenden assembled two scroll-collages to extend an assemblage entitled 'Traditional Chinese Painting Today' that the Harvard Fairbank Center for E. Asian Research would exhibit in May 2004.

She also wrote a forward and an afterward to the manuscript, ENCOUNTERS ON A WAY IN CHINA, and began to consider combining transcribed letters from the Occupation and Paris 1945-47. She wrote two new Paris related pieces: "With the Artist in Paris".

Anne Fessenden worked in the New Jersey studio.

The yellow clapboard New Jersey Studio, located on a grassy, sloping site, was funded by the New Jersey Federation of Women’s Clubs and built as an exact replica of Monday Music Studio (1913).
