Barbara Means Fraser's play about sexual assault, Can't Thread a Moving Needle, had its debut in October 2008. She directed Execution of Justice by Emily Mann at Santa Clara University in remembrance of the 30th anniversary of the murders of Harvey Milk and George Moscone. Fraser completed her play Dog Park Philosophy while in residence at MacDowell.

Barbara Fraser worked in the Sorosis studio.

Sorosis Studio was funded by the New York Carol Club of Sorosis. The small, masonry studio was designed by F. Winsor, Jr., the architect who also designed Savidge Library (1926) and Mixter Studio (1927).
