Ben Stroud worked on his first novel. His story collection Byzantium (Graywolf) won the 2013 Story Prize Spotlight Award and the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference Bakeless Fiction Prize. His stories have appeared in Harper’s, Zoetrope, VQR, Oxford American, VICE, and One Story, among other places. He graduated from the University of Michigan's M.F.A. program in creative writing.

Sorosis

Ben Stroud worked in the Sorosis studio.

Sorosis Studio was funded by the New York Carol Club of Sorosis. The small, masonry studio was designed by F. Winsor, Jr., the architect who also designed Savidge Library (1926) and Mixter Studio (1927).
