Brian Gillis is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice examines intersections of history and related social outcomes. He is particularly interested in working with content that may have fallen on deaf ears, been buried over time, or obscured by something else. Gillis has exhibited nationally and internationally, including recent exhibitions at the Milwaukee Art Museum, CUE Art Foundation, Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts, and Heilongjiang University in China. He is an associate professor of art at the University of Oregon.
