Charles B Child was the pseudonym of Claude Vernon Frost, a British mystery writer.The Crime on the Heath was published in 1937 under the name C. Vernon Frost. As Child, he published a number of short stories featuring Inspector Chafik J Chafik of the Baghdad police. These stories, which appeared in Colliers Magazine beginning in 1947, were finally collected and published in 2002 under the title The Sleuth of Baghdad.

The yellow clapboard New Jersey Studio, located on a grassy, sloping site, was funded by the New Jersey Federation of Women’s Clubs and built as an exact replica of Monday Music Studio (1913).
