Christopher Steadman works in a range of genres including photographic and video installations. Born in England, Steadman moved to the U.S. where he worked and studied in New York, receiving a M.A. in photography from NYU/ICP. He returned to London and completed his M.F.A. at Central St. Martins in 2000 for which he received a British Academy Arts and Humanities Research Bursary. Steadman's work has been shown internationally in New York, London, Moscow, Paris, Berlin among other cities in Europe, the U.S., and the Russian Federation. He has won many awards and grants for his art practice, and fellowships from numerous international artists' residencies.

Christopher Steadman worked in the New Jersey studio.

The yellow clapboard New Jersey Studio, located on a grassy, sloping site, was funded by the New Jersey Federation of Women’s Clubs and built as an exact replica of Monday Music Studio (1913).
