Craig Drennen is an artist based in Atlanta, GA, and a 2018 Guggenheim Fellow. He is represented by Samsøn gallery in Boston. His solo exhibit "Painters" took place at the Hathaway Gallery in 2018. His work has been reviewed in Artforum, Art in America and The New York Times. He has served as dean of the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and now teaches at Georgia State University and is on the board of Art Papers magazine. Since 2008 he has organized his studio practice around Shakespeare’s failed play Timon of Athens.

Given to the MacDowell Association by Margaret Adams of Chicago, the half-timbered, stuccoed Adams Studio was designed by MacDowell Fellow and architect F. Tolles Chamberlin ca. 1914.
