Danton Remoto is the author of Riverrun, A Novel, published by Penguin Random House South East Asia. Penguin also published his The Heart of Summer: Selected Stories and Tales in December 2022.

He was educated at the Ateneo de Manila University, Rutgers University (Fulbright Scholar), and University of Stirling (British Council Scholar). He has worked as head of school-English and professor of creative writing at the University of Nottingham, Malaysia.

At various points, he has worked for the United Nations, hosted a daily radio show for six years, had a daily TV talk show, and served as dean of communications and president of The Manila Times College.

He worked on his second novel at during his time at MacDowell.

Sorosis

Danton Remoto worked in the Sorosis studio.

Sorosis Studio was funded by the New York Carol Club of Sorosis. The small, masonry studio was designed by F. Winsor, Jr., the architect who also designed Savidge Library (1926) and Mixter Studio (1927).
