Jacob Rubin is the author of the novel The Poser and his fiction and nonfiction have appeared in New York magazine, The New Yorker online, Slate, and the anthology Best New American Voices, among other places. He has also written for television and film. Jacob Rubin holds the Laurence Perrine Chair of Creative Writing at Southern Methodist University.

At MacDowell, he worked on a second novel.

The yellow clapboard New Jersey Studio, located on a grassy, sloping site, was funded by the New Jersey Federation of Women’s Clubs and built as an exact replica of Monday Music Studio (1913).
