Jessica Rodriguez is a filmmaker and screenwriter born in Havana, Cuba in 1986. After graduating at Audio Visual Media Arts Faculty (FAMCA) of Cuban Arts University (ISA), she moved to Madrid as she got a MAEC-AECID Grant to do the Carlos III University Film and TV Screenwriting Master Degree. She has worked as assistant in TV series. She is developing cinematographic projects through her production company, CloroProd.

Her documentary El Mundo de Raul has won film festival awards in Latin America and Europe including a Version Espanola Award. She is currently living in Madrid, Spain. She developed her first feature film documentary for filming in Egypt.

At MacDowell, Rodriguez began her first novel Hambre (Hungry). She also finished the final draft of Espejuelos Oscuros (Dark Glasses), her first feature fiction film.

Sorosis

Jessica Rodriguez worked in the Sorosis studio.

Sorosis Studio was funded by the New York Carol Club of Sorosis. The small, masonry studio was designed by F. Winsor, Jr., the architect who also designed Savidge Library (1926) and Mixter Studio (1927).
