Joshua Harmon is a playwright. His plays include Significant Other, which began performances on Broadway in February 2017; and Bad Jews, which has been produced in nearly 100 productions and was the third most-produced play for a season in the United States.

At MacDowell in 2010, he worked on a new play which would be workshopped at Actor's Express, where was the 2010-2011 National New Play Network's Playwright-in-Residence. During his 2016 residency, he began work on a new play about a modern day French Jewish family living in Paris.

Joshua Harmon worked in the Sorosis studio.

Sorosis Studio was funded by the New York Carol Club of Sorosis. The small, masonry studio was designed by F. Winsor, Jr., the architect who also designed Savidge Library (1926) and Mixter Studio (1927).
