Julie Larsen is an assistant at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and focuses on new modes of representation and how it can influence new design trajectories.

She collaborated with Roger Hubeli in the firm Aptum Architecture on national and international architectural competitions that range in scale from small pavilions to large, infrastructural projects. All of these projects try to fuse design ideas between architecture, infrastructure and ecology. Their firm recently placed 2nd in the Chicago based competition Network Reset and 3rd in 10UP Atlanta.

Originally a working barn perched atop the namesake hill of Hillcrest Farm, this building was converted to serve the arts in 1956.
