Libby Heily is a playwright and author based in New York. Her fiction has been published in Daily Science Fiction and The Baltimore Review among other publications. She is working on a new play about a cult survivor.

She is a two-time semi-finalist for the Eugene O’Neill Playwriting Conference, a semi-finalist for the Austin Film Festival, and a former participant of the Kennedy Center Playwriting Intensive. Her play, Midnight Showing, was shortlisted for the 2022 Yale Drama Series Prize.

At MacDowell, Heily wrote and outlined several projects. Her first two weeks were spent editing and rewriting her “Untitled Cult Play” which she finished during her residency. Over the final two weeks, Heily started a draft of her new novel, tentatively called The New Eden and outlined a feature film based on her one-woman show, Inspired by True Events.
