Louis B. Jones is an American author and essayist. He has written five novels, the first three of which were named New York Times Notable Books of their respective years, Ordinary Money (Viking/Penguin), Particles and Luck (Pantheon/Vintage), and California’s Over (Pantheon/Vintage). His third novel, was also was named the Los Angeles Times' Best Book of the Year in 1997. His other two novels were Radiance and Innocence (Counterpoint). He is a National Endowment for the Arts fellow and a fellow of MacDowell, and was a regular reviewer for The New York Times Book Review. He has served as visiting writer at a number of colleges around the country, and is currently the co-director of the fiction workshops for the Community of Writers at Squaw Valley. His short fiction and essays have appeared in ZYZZYVA, The Threepenny Review, Open City, The Sun, Santa Monica Review, the Pushcart Prize, and The Best of Pushcart anthology.

Sorosis Studio was funded by the New York Carol Club of Sorosis. The small, masonry studio was designed by F. Winsor, Jr., the architect who also designed Savidge Library (1926) and Mixter Studio (1927).
