Mario Kaiser is a writer of narrative nonfiction and a recipient of the Kurt Schork Award in International Journalism and the Kurt Tucholsky Prize for Literary Journalism. He worked on a memoir about his grandfathers, who were soldiers in the German army and who both disappeared in the final months of World War II.
