Michael Korie is represented on Broadway as the lyricist of the new musical War Paint, starring Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole, and is the recipient of the 2016 Marc Blitzstein Award given by the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He worked on new opera librettos and musicals, and a follow-up collaboration with playwright Doug Wright and composer Scott Frankel to their musical Grey Gardens. He also worked on a new musical called Flying Over Sunset when he was in residence in 2017 with collaborators James Lapine and Tom Kitt.
