Playwright Renae Simone Jarrett’s works “visit the realm of the surreal to uncover what is already surreal in the experience of the everyday.” She is a member of the 2021/22 Clubbed Thumb Early Career Writers' Group and a recent graduate from UT Austin's M.F.A. playwriting program.

During her stay at MacDowell Jarrett worked on two plays. She produced multiple revisions of Oh, Sweetheart which began as a semi-finalist submission for the Clubbed Thumb 2020 Biennial commission and will continue to be workshopped at LCT3 in New York. She also worked on Daphne, a loose adaptation of the myth of Daphne, which premiered at Lincoln Center's LCT3 in the fall of 2023.

Renae Simone Jarrett worked in the Mansfield studio.

The Helen Coolidge Mansfield Studio was donated by graduates of the Mansfield War Service Classes for Reconstruction Aides. Helen Mansfield helped found the New York MacDowell Club.
