Richard Wargo is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music. He has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, the National Institute for Music Theater, and is a two-time recipient of the F. Lammot Belin Arts Scholarship. He has been granted residencies at MacDowell, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in County Monaghan in Ireland.

Richard Wargo worked in the New Jersey studio.

The yellow clapboard New Jersey Studio, located on a grassy, sloping site, was funded by the New Jersey Federation of Women’s Clubs and built as an exact replica of Monday Music Studio (1913).
