Shira Erlichman is a poet, musician, and visual artist. She is the author of the poetry collection Odes to Lithium for which she was awarded the Audre Lorde Award for Lesbian Poetry by the Publishing Triangle. She is also the author-illustrator of the picture book Be/Hold: A Friendship Book. In 2019, she was a finalist for the Lambda Award and a silver medalist for the Nautilus Award.

Her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Seattle Times, The Huffington Post, The Nation, and PBS, among other publications.

While at MacDowell, she worked on the second draft of her first novel, Tangerapple.

The Lodge Annex, a wing on the west side of the men’s dormitory (The Lodge), was completed in 1926.
