Siddhartha Deb worked on a new novel, The Light at the End of the World (Soho Press), at MacDowell. His last book, a work of narrative nonfiction called The Beautiful and the Damned: Life in the New India, was a finalist for the Orwell Prize in Britain and won the Pen Open Book Award in 2012.
