Thomas Drysdale has been awarded a MacDowell Fellowship and the Distinguished Teaching Medal from New York University. His videotapes have been exhibited at the Walker Art Center, Joslyn Museum, the Kitchen Art Center, Bronx Museum, and PBS (WNET, NY). Educated at the State University of New York, Stonybrook and New York University, Drysdale has had photographs published in Art News, American Photographer, Photographies, and L’Architecture: Sujet ou Pretext? He has also had photographs exhibited at museums, galleries, and major universities. He is currently an associate professor of photography & imaging at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

The Graphics Studio (as it was originally named) was converted to its present use in 1972–1974 through a grant from the Putnam Foundation, and originally served the property as both a power house and pump house.
