Nonfiction writer Zusha Elinson is a national reporter at the Wall Street Journal where he covers guns and crime.

During his time at MacDowell, Zusha worked alongside nonfiction writer and MacDowell Fellow Cameron McWhirter, to complete their co-authored manuscript American Gun. The book, slated to be published by Farrar Straus & Giroux, will tell the full history and societal impact of “the gun that divided America” – the AR-15 rifle.

Sorosis Studio was funded by the New York Carol Club of Sorosis. The small, masonry studio was designed by F. Winsor, Jr., the architect who also designed Savidge Library (1926) and Mixter Studio (1927).
