In this period of crisis, when we need to keep physically distant from one another, language can bring us close. As we enter the space of the poem, we are touched by lives sometimes similar and sometimes very unlike our own. In this workshop, we will begin to explore/inhabit our own lived in spaces of language, as we read from a wide selection of poems, and work on generating, crafting, and enjoying the process of writing poems to help us speak of the present moment, evoke memories and stimulate the imagination.
Class meets Wednesdays: August 19, 26, September 2, 9.
